Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy
Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy strives to be the premier physical therapy practice in Northeastern New Mexico. We are located in beautiful Raton, New Mexico, on the edge of the front range of the Rocky Mountains. Raton is a small rural town of under 10,000 people located 15 minutes south of the Colorado border at the bottom of a spectacular mountain pass. For the outdoor enthusiast, Raton and the surrounding areas offer great hiking, biking, camping, fishing, snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, rafting, off-roading, hunting and much more!
Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy was established in 2001 and is in the unique position of being able to follow patients through all aspects of their care. We provide a wide range of therapy services to all age groups, servicing home health clientele, skilled nursing facility, hospital and a comprehensive outpatient practice. The facility is located in the heart of the medical community adjacent to the new hospital. We have a great working relationship with all the local physicians. Our practice services most types of insurance, including Medicare and Salud! and private pay patients.
We have a dedicated staff of three full time PT’s, two part time PT’s, and five support staff. Rocky Mountain Physical Therapy is owned by therapists Eric and Debbie Armstrong and Ted and Traci Kamp. In total, the owners have over 40 years invested in the community. We are affiliated with multiple universities to allow clinical education of physical therapy students. The rural setting and the variety of our practice has allowed us to have students almost year round.
Our facility was built three years ago with state of the art equipment to rehab any possible impairment. In addition, we have a therapeutic pool designed to enhance recovery processes. We provide individual open swim or exercise time as well as organized aquatic exercise classes.
Our pool is 13 feet by 20 feet, with a graded floor from three to five feet, and is maintained at 90 degrees. It utilizes the latest in ventilation and chemical care as well as have a lift chair.
An adjacent fitness center is available to the public for wellness and injury prevention. This center has allowed us to follow patients well after discharge. The fitness center also allows us to take a leading role in the well-being of the members of our community.
